Fluoride
To some people fluoride is a controversial topic but to me it makes no difference in whether fluoride is put into drinking water or not. Some people disapprove fluoride in drinking water for many reasons. One of the main reasons is that fluoride is not an essential nutrient and humans have had perfectly fine teeth without fluoride. Also a study in China shows that children’s IQ lowers associated with fluoride exposure and fluoride is produced at a very high level in the pineal gland so there is no reason to force people to use fluoride in their everyday life. If fluoride was added to my drinking it wouldn’t really affect me, but either way I would be happy. First, it is good for you and then the fluoride just adds to it by making your teeth whiter. I would like it as a matter of fact and I think that it would be a huge upgrade for our economy. But a bad thing about it is that it might be pretty expensive. But in general putting fluoride into drinking water does not affect me very much.
In toothpaste many things were needed to approve of using fluoride in toothpastes and mouthwashes. For this to happen three new fluorides were found, stannous fluoride, sodium fluoride, and sodium monofluoromonophosphate. They were discovered by Frederick McKay. To create fluoride toothpastes you must marry the fluoride with a compatible abrasive. To make fluoride toothpastes many new, different fluorides must be combined together with a combination of a fluoride- abrasive combination. With fluoride in drinking water the side effects that I am most concerned about is that it affects your immune system by producing the migration of white blood cells to infected areas in the body. Also it interferes with the destruction of bacteria and other new things entering the body by white blood cells. I do not want to deal with all these problems in the future with white blood cells and ruining my body just because fluoride was put into my drinking water. Who knows if in a couple of years we are forced to have fluoride in our drinking water.
